There are several bushes at each corner of the car - the ones that fail the most commonly at the rear are one or both bushes in the rear upper control arm (large, banana shaped metal bar with a rubber bush at each end). The whole bar/arm has to be changed, rather than just the rubber bush. Alternatively, the rear anti-roll bar bushes can deteriorate, but that's less likely to cause an MOT failure.
With the car on the ground, hold the top of the rear tyre and see if the wheel rocks in and out. If it does, seems like the control arm bushes have failed.

hi jezzy i have got a 52 plate vectra SXI 1st of the new shape i have changed the top ones on mine going 2 change the bottom ones today. they just press out will try and get the part number for you later mate
How much were the bushes?
just got a price for the bush £19.75 inc vat.X 2= £39.50 a side.
but a new arm is £31.95 how mad is that
Thats why the whole arm is normally changed
i am just going to get to more bushes as i have just put two new ones in sods law if i get a new arm it works out at =£50.75 a arm
