There are several bushes at each corner of the car - the ones that fail the most commonly at the rear are one or both bushes in the rear upper control arm (large, banana shaped metal bar with a rubber bush at each end). The whole bar/arm has to be changed, rather than just the rubber bush. Alternatively, the rear anti-roll bar bushes can deteriorate, but that's less likely to cause an MOT failure.

With the car on the ground, hold the top of the rear tyre and see if the wheel rocks in and out. If it does, seems like the control arm bushes have failed.

the upper control arm large, banana shaped metal bar with a rubber bush at each end. The rubber bush can be changed by pressing a new bush in rather than buying a new arm

The bush can't be changed on it's own fella - maybe you're thinking of a Vectra-B instead.
