Default It's that time of year again! Who is having problems with the cruise control again?

Every winter it's the same, the cruise control goes on the blink!, now it could be due to warm moist air from the vents condensing inside the cold stalk where it blows over it, or my guess is that the resistance goes out of range!, if you check the stalk resistances, you will find that it detects the state of the buttons by using just two wires and by switching a different resistance across the two wires, so my guess is that the resistance is changing ever so slightly with temperature and this is what is causing the cruise control to drop out.

What's the fix?, I don't know, maybe new models have slightly different software, or resistance tolerances, are they prone to this failure at all?.

Anyone with any other ideas apart from those that just have loads of dirt inside the switches.

May need the brake pedal/light switch re-calibrated. It sorted mine out.

Not the pedal switches as I've checked their operation using software, but good point.

I found mine went on the blink on my run down to Bolton (after I refuelled at Southwait £1.339 per litre!!!! Never again)

I returned to the m'way and no cruise. I returned next day however and was my OWN stupid fault as I didn't remeber the press the brake once engagement rule.
