    Default water main burst

    local watermain burst and most of our town had no water all day, haven`t got a clue when its comin back on and they are no use at keeping their customers informed......mrs is worryin now incase the central heating won`t work, any ideas lads? pressure gauge is sayin 1 bar but don`t know what its meant to be reading normally

    All the systems I have had have been seperate from the mains. Only time you use the mains is filling / topping up the system - either tank in loft or closed loop.

    Yes your Heating will be fine, its a sealed system. Although you'll get no hot water for washing if its a Combi system and limited hot water if its an old style header tank system.

    If your boiler does your hot water as well you're best running the cold tap to get all the rubbish out first, if mucky water goes through the boiler it can block things up (experience talking!).

    if its a combi it works off the mains m8 so id say you would have no heating i maybe wrong but if i turn my water off my boiler turns off in like 10min im in new house so it could be why just use eletric heater m8 if you **** your boiler now your xmas want be very good start will it
