    Default Fitting Fog lamps ?

Hello again ,ive just purchased some fog lamps as my 53reg LS does not have them ,im not to sure what other components i will need to wire them in, is the wiring there already behind the covers? do they just plug in ?
i have got the interior switch to change too, so i have the fog switch .
Hope this is any easy job ,im going to have the bumper off as im fitting my xenons at the same time.
    Thanks alot .

Did you not get the small loom with the fog lights? You will be able to tell if the loom is already on your car. If you open the bonnet and look down the inside of the bumper, between the radiator and the front lower bumper grill, next to the grill, you will see a small piece of black plastic right in the middle, this is the Temp sender for the display next to the clock. If you see only wire on one side of this, going towards the passenger side of the car, the fog light loom is missing. If there is a wiring loom going to both sides, you do have the wiring loom.
Ok so upgrading to factory fit fog lights. Its never as simple as you think it should be, years gone by you just added the lights, added the switch and added a fuse and that was that. Your going to need to find out if your have the correct UEC(Underbonnet Electrical Centre, Basically the fusebox) now as you have a pre 04 car you may well have that, then if you do you require a Tech2 session from either your local VX Dealer or from someone on here that has access to Tech2. From the Dealers it can be around the £40-£60 mark for this.
I retrofitted foglights to my LX only just a month or so ago. I really wasn't prepared to go to the expense of a tech 2 session to tell me I didn't have the correct UEC so I just hard wired mine in the old fashioned way with a switch in the spare blanking plates on the dash and a relay in the battery box. Works just as well and tbh does not in anyway look out of place.

Thanks i will take a look ,thankfully i know somone who is breaking a 05 plate 3.0d Elite ,so the parts i need should be available (wiring loom etc).
If it looks like to much of a pain i wont bother fitting them ,it would look much better ,as i can see on you car they finish the front off ,and i have an irmisher grill on order .

    Thanks for your help

you can always just wire a 2nd set of sidelights into them, rather than going through the time an expense of buying an fitting a loom if its missing

No problem. Hard wiring them the old fashioned way is really quite easy btw, and tbh very satisfying too.

Ask the guy for the loom including the temp sender too as they are all connected to the same plug.
