Question regarding Park Assist switch...

I am planning on fitting front and rear after market parking sensors to my 57 plate 1.9 CDTi Vectra Life.

I have no problem with the rears operating with the reversing lights, however I am not happy with whole wiring into the brake lights to make them work.

So I have hatched a cunning plan to connect a timer circuit to a momentary switch on the dash for parking, push the button, sensors go live for x seconds/minutes using a Maplin/Vellerman Timer circuit (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=3315).

I am hoping to fire up the Park Assist Switch LED with the LED on the board and replace the board 'ON' switch with the PAS.

So the crux of the project /idea is whether the Vx Park Assist Switch is a latching or non latching switch

Does anyone know or have one on the bench to test for me please

I guess the switch is not latching.
