    Default new neighbours

hi i hope this is in the right place

I have a question for you all

we have new neighbours opposite us now in the street who when they moved in were very noisy and were completely blocking the parking up in the street sometimes upto 10 cars at 1 time
now i know its a public road and as long as there taxed i dont think i can do anything about this issue
now its been a fair few months and the noise issue has calmed after words with them about there dogs barking for sometimes hours on end 4 of them at that
but the parking only seems to be getting worse but just not as many cars
iv had 6 of there cars blocking our street all day iv even had to resort to parking on the path i know not the right thing to do but i had no other choice
so on seeing the homeowner we had a little chat all calm and colllected now they jiggled cars around so i could park and also so another neighbour could get on there drive

    great i thought problem resolved

i then went out for the evening to return at 11 30 pm to find yet 1 more car to the collection in the space they had made for me

im simply amazed at there lack of consideration

so instead of loosing it with them which i would iv removed a bollard from a piece of waste land and put my car on there only to find as soon as i get in bed they then come out and leave in there car

im loosing the will to live and dont know what to do next does anyone have any ideas as obviously our chat earlier has fell on deaf ears

    regards
    steve
    thanks in advance

do you have much garden or land at the front of your house? can you get a lowered pavement, and create a make shift driveway, a lowered pavement then makes it illegal to obsruct unless it is to allow access to your premises.
you dont even have to use the "pretend" driveway to park on, not sure how expensive dropping the pavement and permission would be, but i know my parents had it done relatively cheaply, as they had only on street parking, so they dropped the pavement, and made a small parking space on the front garden, barel big enough to park my mums ka on, but its effectively created 2 spaces for my parents, the space on the garden, and the space in front of the dropped pavement!

i have a bit on the front with no drop kerb but a trailer tent sat on it as storage
dropping the kerb is about 800 quid which can only be done by approved people and we live in a council house so i wouldnt spend that on doing it for them

Nothing you can do really. I've had the same problem in the past and had to send the pcso's round who after a chat advised me there was nothing that could be done as long as they were all taxed etc. I was even told they could block a drive as long as there wasn't a car on it! I moved in the end
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

how come they have so many cars?

There must be some sort of law about this, if not there should be!

it should be something like each household are only entitled to claim a percentage of the available space.....

hope you get this sorted mate, they sound like the dingles from emerdale this lot

Trailer trash always seem to have a lot of cars, usually worth about 50p each.

Have a word with the council, does these neighbours own the house? If it's council they can have a word. Taxed you say, so DVLA and police out. How about Planning? Have a word with you baet policeman/CSO, maybe they can advise who to contact.

Man thats a tough situation is the house owned or local authority? as it depends on the owner as to if they have a set permit for a number of cars, two or three is the general rule of thumb.

If you plan on reporting it be as anonymous from now on as you can as they might retaliate in true TT style!

I would think that there is a law on your side somewhere on this however.

they have 3 cars for 3 people but they can have upto 7 cars as visitors at any one time and they are not just there for an hour or 2 they had 2 visiting the other day for 4 days
i calculate there is 10 spaces outside our adresses but like i say sometimes i still cant find 1 for my car
