Default Gear knob has come off

Earlier today the gear knob came off in my hand. I pushed it back on but the pull up lever for selecting reverse has lost it's spring! Is this easily fixed or will this require a trip to a vx garage?

a two part epoxy such as araldite, but better option is to buy a nice Richbrook one for about £30 or a VXR one for about £100 s/h 380 new (ish)

Only problem I guess is that the spring really needs to be there. Is it in the car somewhere?

I'm guessing the spring will be laying in the floor of the car somewhere (down side of front seats or under)... find this, put it back together & a tiny blob of glue will keep the whole thing inplace.

I used a bit of cloth over the spline. Whacked it on and it's not been off since!
