    Default 2.2 petrol direct engine

I seem to remember many years ago when I got my Signum (5 years) someone told me the engine was used in another car as well, "volvo" comes tomind but not sure was just wondering if they have the same problems with the high pressure fuel pumps if not what have they done to get round the panic that sets in every time the car does not instantly start.

I think its a similar block is in some Saab 9-3's and/or Fiat (I might well be wrong).. I would imagine engine ancillaries might be very different though (like pumps, electronics, valves etc etc)

A quick google doesnt seem to through up much mention of fuel pressure problems on Saabs..

It's from the GM L850 engine family, a globally developed engine. This family has many applications - definately not for Volvo though! Specifically you have the Z22YH type, to my knowledge this is only used in Zafira-B & Vectra-C/Signum.

I think the SAAB and Fiat engines were the non-direct units. Though I could be wrong!
