The part cost £107+VAT and about an hour all in I would say to replace and update the software so I would say £200.

That's normal for stealers price this is a very easy part to replace yourself look on eBay for a new one a lot less than £100. Small socket set and small spanner set all tools needed about 30 mins.

Think there needs to be a software update m8. This was my plan until I found out that the thing needs software updated on the ECU to perform properly, or it may not function properly.

The whole thing has me confused - I take it you done it yourself. Apparently the new EGR valves (circa 2008 I believe) apparently require an update for the ECU.

Yes done myself going into stealers tomorrow for some parts will ask them if they know of update. Different subject had to have cambelt replaced when I was away last week as water pump leaking, is there any way of knowing if it's fitted ok or right as when I went garage he said def chain I said now belt lost a bit of confidence. Sorry for hijack.

I replaced mine with a brand new one from Vaux-World for £87.95 delivered,(and mine's a 150 so a 120 is less expensive),and they swapped straight over with no performance issues whatsoever.FELIXX.
