Picking up a set of side skirts tomorrow for colour coding. I read here a while back that you need to get the smooth before painting. Whats the best grade paper to rub them down and is dry paper in a detailing sander the best way to go, or is wet and dry the only way to do it? BTW anyone north of the border happen to have a lower rear LX bumper skirt lying around doing nothing?

You dont have to get them smooth ..just makes for a better finish ...you will need quite course grade of paper first makes no difference if its wet or dry as long as you finish with fine paper ...if you have a sander it will save you a lot of energy ...i tackled this one before i got my Irmscher sills and it turned out OK ...also did the rear skirt

Thanks for the Offer. As luck would have it when I went to pick up the side skirts I asked the guy if he had a rear skirt, and yup he did, rear bumper was wrecked but lower skirt was ok so go it for nothing. Thanks all the same tappetpaul.
