You should never trust the BC, when the gauge on the Vectra/Signum enters the Red zone you should fill up asap.

Nope, however when i test drove my Signum, it said 0 miles on the clock.

I learnt from my Brother-in-law, he had a Zafira GSi and ran out of petrol in the middle of Derbys rush hour, with 17 miles still on the range.

I fill up with around 50miles left.

Filled my 2.0T up yesterday and BC showed Range as 260 miles to a full tank.. It should read near on 420!

It's all down to your average MPG. If you booted it over the last few miles before you filled up, the average MPG would be less so it'll think you get less miles out of the fuel you have.

In the next few days, watch the expected range increase to around the normal mark.

Nope, never have, never will I even suspect the gauge till I've had the car a while, but I'll always trust the gauge over the BC

    it all works on averages

if you go to settings and hold on cd player..
    till it beeps

then bc reveals a hidden menu

keep pressing and you will find 2 screens which detail consumption, tank contents and range

so if averages then well i'd guess you can say that driving style might affect those values to the point where you are compromised

i've never had a problem despite going to 0 on my 150 1.9 cdti on several occasions

    maybe i'm lucky

running to the last few miles is like rolling the dice. you taking a punt every time. Why would you risk it ?
