    Default IQ connect and play

Went to lookers today and while I was there I got a demo of this IQ play blue tooth phone and media player for your car just wondering if anyone has fitted one and how much did it cost you? Where from. Lookers wanted £359 fitted, I've had a quick look online and found one for £130.

Can't believe the sound quality! There are different brands though aren't there? Can anyone recommend any variations? I believe Parrot do one too.

    Thanks.

When i was looking at these i am sure i read that it will only push sound out of the front speakers and not the rear.

I opted for the Parrot Mki9200. Dead easy to fit, will play music off SD Card, USB Stick, USB Hard Disk, Iphone, Ipod and its a full hands free through your car spearkers as well. Only a few ££ more than the IO Play.

Also, if i recall, the boxes for the IO Play are quite bulky in comparison with the parrot.

halfords will fit on site (if you trust halfords to fit) for £199 for a mki9200
you may be charged extra for a SOT lead circa £20

the parrot is imho a superior unit for connectivity and for sound quality

Just to add, i got my MKi9200 and SOT122 lead all in for £160. Fitting really is a doddle. The only thing if you are unsure is getting a live feed. Cig Lighter is the best place to take it from.

With the parrot, does it connect to your phone wireless through blue tooth and play music via blue tooth also? The IQ played it digitally so it was CD perfect sound. Is the parrot like that?

Parrot will either play from a direct physical connection to the iphone or via bluetooth digitally.

Sound from both is pretty much flawless (to my ears anyway)

yep connects via bluetooth but as an added bonus it has a usb slot
an ipod connector and a 3.5mm stereo jack plug for additional connectivity and charges your iphone as you drive

also the removeable screen has a sd card slot built into it as well so it really is feature packed

One thing I didn't like about the IQ was that it didn't display your mobile numbers on any sort of screen. Does the Parrot do this? Also does the parrot show your Albums as well or is that too high tech??

Yes it does show numbers/names on the display. it is also has voice activated dialling... which in fact is very good.

You can put a custom background on the display too (call me sad, but i have the VX badge on mine). It will also display album art if you have it on your ipod/iphone.

The only thing which i wish it would do is dial a number that you speak.

nice one mate, I've got a blackberry 9700 bold. So I would have to play either wireless or through the 3.5 jack. I'm made up with that cos I've been trying to find somthing that I can play my music through my car system.

One last question will it also work with the CD70 nav when I eventually change?
