the car will self rev up to 3500rpm. then it will start stinking as the exhaust gets upto 500-600 oC this goes on about 5 mins
should i expect much smoke ?
will it be from the exhaust and/or under the bonnet
thanks
may get a tiny exhaust smoke. if something is melt able near the exhaust it will and will burn and smoke
its actually not as bad as you might imagine.
As said, the engine will rev on its own, i think it holds around 2-2500 first, and then increases to 3500, and will stay like that for a while, i think its a bit longer than the 5 minutes, but that could vary depending on the saturation level maybe.
Be warned though, the exhaust gasses will be very very hot!!
Mine has never smoked during a re-gen, but if its gonna smoke anywhere, I would think it would come from the exhaust

i just found this on you tube so guess this is what i could expect
Excuse my lack of knowledge but what is a re-gen? Is it for diesels/petrols? or both?!
shouldn't smoke people do them when their is no need
Also thinking of biting this bullet. Can you do a regen on a tarmac drive or is it advisable to drive somewhere suitable first?
