Default Oil Change and now engine running cold?

    Hi all,

Recently changed my oil for some fresh Mobile 5 30W, and ever sine it seems to be taking the car double the distance to get to normal running temp?

Also, i have also noticed that when my heaters are on warm, and i turn right, the heaters blow cold for an second and then return back to hot?

    Very strange....

Any ideas why it may be?

    Thanks

The first one will probably be down to a drop in external temperature in the last week or so. I can't think how the oil will affect coolant.

Not sure about the other point.

    Quite normal
Used oil contains fine particles of metal which retain temperature more easily
New oil is able to transfer the heat away more efficiently

heaters blowing cold momentarily on changing direction is also normal ...something to do with the height of the transmission tunnel

I've never noticed any such change
I normally run with the air con on, the temperature dial at between 12 and 1 o'clock positions, and speed to 2
If I need hot air, then I increase the speed to 4

heat transfer is a really important part of an oils job - if it does it well so much the better. It will take longer to warm up if the outside air is colder - and the car temp gauge shows the water temp not the oil temp.
