Default It was all going so well.....

Hello again all, My 02 2.2DTI has the dreaded car with spanner comming on a couple of seconds after engine start up. It stays on for about 2-3 secs then goes off. No limp mode, car seems fine. Have checked the boost pipes, have taken out and cleaned the boost pressure sensor, but still the car/spanner light comes on and goes out again. Any ideas?

Cheers for the reply guys, this started yesterday morning and has continued all through the day yesterday, it wasn't cold enough for the glow plugs warm up symbol to be shown during start up though, and later on during the day, the weather down here was quite warm. Do you think these might still be the cause?

i'd also drain / change fuel filter unless you've done it recently

not sure about dti but water in fuel filter can show the same warning light

might still be a glow plug on the way out or even dead

#Solved# following on from the great advice given by the people above, bought a new set of plugs from the dealers (£61), fitted them yesterday afternoon, took about 30 min, nice and steady off, copper slip on new threads, all back together, gave the air filter a clean out as well- no more car MIT spanner. One thing I did do was to test the old glow plugs using a spare battery and clips, result was 3 out of the 4 plugs were dead.

Thanks to all the above for their replys
