It should have a year printed on the disc mate, mine's a 55 plate (nov 05 registered) but I have a 2004 disc ... going to have a bit of a complain to Vx soon methinks see if I can get a more up-to-date disc. You can find prices for discs on the Navteq site ... http://www.navteq.com/ and follow map updates link. For a UK disc it's listing £116 inclduing VAT and shipping.

Used my sat nav today and it really does take you on some wierd (and long) routes!! I've adjusted all the settings, but I don't have full confidence in it.

I think mine is fantastic, it isn't always the quickest route but usually is very good and the TMC (Traffic Message Channel) Dynamic guidance to Re-route you around road works and congestion is absolutely fantastic, saved us ages last night pulling off the M6 before the miles of congestion and routing us down clear country lanes. I would never buy a car without it again.

I know what you mean mate ... the Tom Tom Go looks quite cool with this ... but I feel sure they would have to upgrade the processor in the head unit to do this as the 2d map refresh can be a bit slow to refresh ... faster than the older unit but still has it's moments. I've also noticed that the new system doesn't allow you to show multiple points of interest categories on the map at once ... I assume this is to speed the system up slightly. That said though I think the system is fantastic, a great improvement on the previous one (CDC 2016 IIRC) and still saves me hours and hours in places I'm not familiar with.
