Default Living with a low Vectra!

Being new to the Vauxhall scene this is probably the most important question I will ever need to ask!

Every car ive ever owned is low, i mean LOW and since the is the biggest car ive ever owned I need your knowledge and experience about how these Vectra's deal with it!

I know what coilovers i will be using but what sort of lows are people running?

I would look to be lowering it 80mm+ (dependent on future wheel/width choice!). So is there anything that will catch or rub (i.e ARB) at that height?

    Thanks!

Mines 30 too, with standard black plastic splitter and I often hear that scraping the floor!!!!
I have heard of a few people dropping by 45mm, think thats the lowest I have heard of so far!!!!

My 1.9 cdti vectra is dropped about 60mm and its like running on rails , it loves corners .Saying that I wouldn't dare put a front splitter on it as scrapes the black plastic one now.

I love a lowered car, but 80mm on a Vec is a bit insane to be honest!

You say this is the biggest car you've owned, you been on small hatchbacks before? Remember you won't need to lower a big car like the Vec as much as small car to make it look good.

cheers for the replies guys, im probably I bit naive by thinking a Vec can go that low!!

my Arosa is lowered 120mm+ and so were my previous Golf VR6's so unfortunatly I know what sacrifice needs to be made!

my entire driving life has been based upon avoiding speed bumps!!

Why? The majority of other drivers look at you and either think 'Chav little boy racer' or 'my god that cars suspension is nackered'. Don't know which Vectra you have got. The amount the SRi is lowered compared with standard is fine, looks good and does not cause any real restrictions to driving, but much more than that impacts on every day use of the car and just makes it look like something has broken.

well, i guess im lucky to not actually care what others think?? I love the assumption you have made because I want to lower my car!

its all about good stance, perfect offset, minimal arch gap and ground clearance. If i need to lower it 40mm or 4 inches, I will do it to achieve imo the perfect look.

Can you please re-read you post and tell me what part is in anyway constructive? on the back of your well thought out post, if you have nothing good to say, dont bother
