Hi Guys, I know this is about a Vectra-B stereo but I'm hoping that some of you longer term Vauxhall owners might know about this and give me some advise.
My mates Vectra-B had its battery disconnected in an MOT/Service. When connected again the radio asked for the Radio code to be re-entered. He didn't realise that he needed to repeatedly press the buttons to scroll through the numbers. Basically after his tenth attempt he has been locked out and the display says SAFE. Reading the user manual it says to take it to Vauxhall but after I had recoded him a new key with OP-COM he asked me to take a look. When I connect to his CAR400 Stereo it doesn't say any error codes and I was expecting the PROGRAMME option on OP-COM to be clickable but its not.
Can I release his stereo from SAFE mode with OP-COM or will he have to bite the bullet and take it to Vauxhall?
Additional info: His Vaxuhall CD changer doesnt work and has flagged up some error codes. He said its never worked and he's not fussed by it but if I could reactivate that as well it would be good. The codes coming up for the CD CHANGER are:
00052 EEPROM not programmed - Present
00062 - Replace Electronic Control Unit (ECU) - Present.
Again, these codes are for the CD CHANGER and not the RADIO.
His car is a 2001 Vectra-B 2.6 V6 petrol SRi. He has his car pass with all codes.
