After some amount of exchanged inboxes and detailing chat Grumpy1954 turned up on my doorstep with a fine example of a facelifted veccy, 08 plate and needy of a little love we decided to give her what she deserves!
Grumpy1954 was alive and kicking and roaring to go so on we went to the kitchen for tea and chat lol. A quick chat and insight into a breif product guide was just what we needed to use as motivation..
So on with the pics (Grumpy we need some pictures from your camera)
Just for fun
Here are some before pics
I sprayed the car with shampoo/tar remover mix to de grease and lessen the risk of scratches as was using a powerful jet washer. I jet washed the car down to get a surface I could inspect
(any pics Grumpy?)
I used the 2 bucket method to wash the car with a sheepskin washmit. I used AG shampoo and conditioner.
(any pics Grumpy?)
CLAY - Grumpy loved this stage, we had some laughs here but probably kept private (ay grumps lol) but the clay worked as it should and gave,,, well,,, the best results ive seen from this clay. The paintwork was more than smooth!!
Here is the proof!!! You seen it here first haha!!! OH i got him grafting, dont beleive the bad back stories (only jokin bud, you done very well!)
One thing Grumpy wanted to know was the difference between his usual hand polishing and a machine polish (well the results i mean) so on we went with the DAS-6 Pro and menzerna super finish around the car
We were then swirl free! (the cutting compound/pad did come out for the deeper swirls. sfx-2 came out on a few panels after trying with sfx-1)
If anyone knows me or reads my threads then your probably expecting me to say i waxed the car with colly 476 as its durable.... Well NO.. I used Chemocal Guys Blitz, amazing for the 'wet look' and not to soon did the car show its true colours. We were happy bunnies
On with the black dressing using Sonus Tyre and Bumper Dressing. Used to hydrate and bring new life to black trim/rubber, applyed with a sponge obtained from the kitchen sponge (new ofc)
Tyres dressed with non other than Megs Endurance
The glass was polished with AG Glass Polish (a product we are both fond of)
After a nice dinner and enough tea to sink a ship the day came to an end, we had to pack up shop and carry on with normal life
Grumpy + Wife are welcome up here anytime and im glad he is back in love with his vectra CDTi
(i have no pics for the before clean or any final/after pics)
