Default modifications to 3 litre V6 diesel estate vectra

Looking at changing a few things on my vectra estate 3L V6 elite. Looked into possibly getting it remapped but had quite a bit of negative feedback, the main issue being the fuel pump breaking if you increase the power. Also looking at changing tyres. I've currently got 215 50 ZR 17 on elite alloys. Heard you can put 225 45 17 tyres on and they are better, anyone clarify this? Last thing I'm looking at doing is lowering the suspension or at least changing it from what I currently have. Anyone give some good aadvice and all the above?

My tyres are 245/45/17, and they are also recommended to the Vectra. maby not better.. but cheaper, as they are more commen.

I recently replaced my Signum Elite 215/50x17 with 225/45x17. They do look a little smaller (sidewall) but you get used to that.

The estate doesnt really need them unless it's an auto.

I would'nt put on 245's either, they are not a standard tyre for Vectra C.

Tyres are a personal type of choice the 215/50 is 2.4% longer in rolling radius and with a slightly taller sidewall a bit more compliant the 225/45 is cheaper but will result in you travelling less distance (2.4%) on the same amount of diesel plus the handling benefits are frankly nil on the road really.

As for a remap, many have tried none have truly succeeded and with fuel pumps running into mortgage territory be very careful is all I would venture.

It's incredibly close to the performance limit for the 91 rating
In the event of a rapid deflation at high speed the 94 or 95 rating will help with vehicle control

I tested this in my own and at 70mph on a corner the 91W is scary when you lose one (for the tests it was each of the front tyres)
    Even worse in wet conditions
Even the simple change to XL tyres makes quite a difference
