    Default Removing the airbox assistance

I am going to be trying to fit the xenon's tomorrow if I take delivery of the car, and this time I was going to do it bumper in place, so wanted to lift the entire airbox out as I know at least one has done.

Many thanks before I wade in and break something

It is not fixed in at it just sits on rubber blocks .
All i do prior to removing the airbox is to remove the maf then remove your top air box cover remove filter then lift airbox from nearest to engine side to remove . to replace opposite but put some oil on the rubber fitting,s to aid instillation .
    Driving vauxhall,s for 30 + years

But I also put some tape around the top edges where the filter sits,as,when I took the filter out, there were leaves and bits of debris stuck to it's underside. Also did the airbox mod while it was off!!.FELIXX.

I plan to do the airbox mod on this car as well and will do it at the same time will hoover out the debris and generally give it a jolly good scrubbing - matron -

I must admit that I was a little surprised to find thing stuck to the underside of the filter. Its a pipercross panel filter, and I never thought about things getting in from the sides.
You tend to underestimate the pulling power and suction of that turbo!!.FELIXX.

Unlike the standard filter, large airborne objects (Moths etc) tend to stick to the oil used on the so-called 'performance filters'.
