Default Vectra sri estate 1.9 120

    Hello

First post so be gentle. Wnet to have a look at this yesterday

    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi.../1.9?logcode=p

Nice car with 145000 on the clock. Drove ok with power but was noisey - now i drive a mundano 1.8td and it was louder than than that, also had a vibration in the clutch pedal when under power.........

Now i have never driven one before, and despite this i was very very tempted but worried about the vibration..........

Is this normal? Are the 1.9's quiet engines? I am looking to spend up to 3K on one - what i am i likely to get?

    Thanks

    Steve

    Hi Mate,

The diesels have issues with the DMF sounds like this may be on the way out, the lads with the diesels will be able to confirm this.

The vibration does sound like the DMF/clutch so I would avoid personally.

Also, if you have 3k to spend, i reckon you could be picking up something similar with a few less miles on the clock

Just had a quick look, for that price there must be something wrong with it, I would stay well clear and looking at the pic of the rear it’s a 150 not a 120.

duncmills right, very likely the 150 owing to the red "TI" at the back, suppose it could have been re-badged, easiest way to check for sure is position of oil filler cap.

It does seem a bit cheap but then if the DMF is on its way out its going to cost another grand to put right!!

Not sure if they fitted DPF's to the estates on that year but its also something worth considering as they can be costly when they go wrong.

I was worried about the fly wheel / clutch - he even said he would throw 6 months tax in too, 3 month warentee (papers prob worth more) and a valet! It did seem cheep. The CO2 emissions on the log book was 186 - is this the 120?

Yep too cheap that one, would avoid.
Like said if you get it cheaper then that money could go towards a new DMF and clutch.

BTW the CDTi is a noisy engine, noisier if fact than my previous diesel, a 6 pot 2.5TD Omega.
