    Default Wiring for the washer bottle sensor - where to find

    where can i find the wiring for the washer bottle sensor ?

    i have activated the check control on my car and the display is showing that there is low washer fluid..

    can anyone plase help ?
    if there is no wiring where can i connect the wiring and make my own plug ?

    Plug is taped up passenger side of car right by the washer bottle HTH
    If you havent got it then yes it can be added.

    i did not see it ,, if i do not have it, how to / where to connect the wiring ?

    and what is the color of the plug ?

    Time to dig out this pic again lol
    This is what it looks like if you have the plug.


    If you don't have this plug, you can just wire it in, it's basically an earth connection that's made by the sensor when it's full and breaks the connection when it's empty triggering the warning on the dash.

    You have to lift the fuse box under the bonnet and wire a connection from pin 14 on the main box to the sensor and the other side to earth, it's as simple as that. There's a load of pics and more info in the howto thread for this.

    Sorry to jump on the thread but, Ian - where the other plug is shown in your picture, what is that for? I have this plug too but don't know what I could plug into it.

    Honestly not sure, there's not a lot that could fit in there, that was on my old 03 SXi and I never worked out what that was for. The only other things I could think of that fitted there where the second horn and the headlight washers, but I don't think it's for either.

    I'm sure someone else more knowledgable will come along and answer it though

    Kenp - The black connector on Ian's photo is the one I was on about in my thread that you commented on earlier today. The large black one that is unplugged.

    Any ideas?
