C service ?'s (2.0DTi)

I noticed today that the letters 'Info' appewared above the odo reading just after starting up this morning

I've never noticed it before and I've had the car for just 11 months and have driven 12K miles.

I thought that a red spanner appeared on the Rev counter side.

Does this mean that it's due for a service ?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If it's Insp, then it's telling you it wants to go and see its friend the mechanic!

Mine says 'Insp' in the same box, but just above the miles clock.

example:

Insp___________then it will change to:_____543 (miles since last reset)
77543_________________________________77543 (total miles)


Mine has done this for as long as I can remember.
I just thought it was 'Insp'ecting the miles clock since last reset and needed a second to appear.

If it needs to see a mechanic, then mine is very long overdue. Had can 8 months, and it's always done it as far as I know. Don't know what the handbook says, only looked at the symbol for worn front brake pads when that appeared in other side of dash.
I'll take a look in hadbook when I get round to it.

I've had a look through the handbook regarding the Insp, or Info being displayed in the mile clock display, and it doesn't say anything. It only shows a picture of a spanner when it's read for a service, and if you turn engine off, and press the miles reset button (on some models) it displays how many miles left recommended until next service.

When it was last serviced it looks like the garage took it off eco flex servicing. That's why it's showing Insp. It either needs servicing or resetting.

This is exactly what happened on mine last time. Before that it started a countdown fromm 1600 miles.

Had another look this morning and it says 'InSP' and then checked the service manual not very clear is it !!

So I rang Evans Halshaw and - yep, it needs a service so it's booked in for Friday and as it is 20 months old they will do a 'late 1st year' service' as it only did 9 miles in the first 8 months of being registered

No spanner or oil can in the Rev counter area I'll ask more on Friday.

Whats the average cost of a service for the Vectra-C? mines a 1.8 petrol.

My first service with this car, used to have a 1.1 peugeot 106

I was quoted £145 for the minor service and £185 for the bigger one.
