Default Started on a new home for the Veccy

As I won't be able to make the Yorkshire meet tomorrow I thought I'd put up a couple of pics of what is now taking up all my spare time. Need somewhere for my Vec and my little red road rocket to sleep snuggly at night (oh and my Clio rally car project, and space for a future kit car build )

Old garage - no use to man nor beast

Removal of offending tree stump before building inspector saw it and got on his high horse regarding disturbed ground.

The scene of devastation as of today following the removal of 170 tons of rubble and earth, 55 tons on concrete poured for the footings. Had to dig foundations down 2 bl**dy metres because of nearby trees so this will be one seriously bomb proof garage - might even have a wine cellar underneath. 15 tons of concrete and loads of A393 steel reinforcing coming for the floor next weekend. Should all be worth it in the end though 28ftx26ft and my sparky has got some special lights put aside that should be perfect for detailing under.

It looks like back breaking work, but it will be a very worth while job when finished. at least you had a digger to get the footing dug out, not having to do it by hand........

Couldn't agree more Ed, hydraulics beat mandraulics any day. I would have been there months trying to get that stump out but my mate's JCB teleporter made short work of it. Excellent bit of kit, 4wd 4 wheel steer and interchangeable buckets and forks. He also brought his roll-off skip which holds about 4 times as much as a regular 8 yard skip and we still managed ti fill it 8 times Unfortnately the rest of it is more or less me and a brick trowel.

My mate auditioning for the JCB display team.

Well as of today we have 1108 members on here so if everyone lands at the Drinkys and lays 4 bricks each we can have the shell up at the next NW meet. Then we can all have the honour of building a new home for the Vectaru (and whatever retro monster replaces the Elite)

No Ian, will be going to Pendragon. Night out round Penrith on Saturday night, top night last year, followed by chase car duties on Sunday.
