    Default Hatchback or Saloon?

The vectra is 1 of the few modern cars to offer both and an estate version, I personally would never buy a saloon I really dont understand why car manufactures even make them when the hatchback is so much more practical, I had an alfa 156 saloon and it was a pain, our chils fold up ****** had to be forced in and out of the boot and If ever I wanted to nip to B&Q or somewhere to get a door or some plaster board or something I would have to borrow someone elses car, I dont understand why other car manufactures only offer saloon or estate options. I would be interested to hear your views!

I agree fully, can't understand saloons at all, what is the point. They offer no advantages over either a hatch or estate. TBH, the estate is best of all, but at least the hatch has the benefit of looks over an estate.

Personally I don't like the look of saloon Vectra's but each to their own.

Hatchback all the way for me.

I love the hatchback, hate the look of the saloon and wouldn't mind a vectra estate, but they do look butt ugly from behind.

I prefer the hatch aswell but I have no issues with the saloon I own.Yeah you cant put a door in it from b and q but I wouldn't put a door in my car anyway as I already scratched the leather interior with a tele stand, Not that I wouldnt be able too as I have a folding front passanger seat. Plus why is there not a SRI/GSI/VXR range for the saloon as there was in the vectra b

You guys don't realise. The saloon is a status symbol. It shows that you don't need to be practical, anything like that is done for you....

I have the hatchback for practicalities too, but many people I know look down on me for being practical.....

The Saloon far outsells the hatch in Germany, to the point where if you want a hatch you have to get there GTS (SRi) You cant buy a none sports hatch over there. The Saloon is a stronger shape and is why it was always used for touring cars in the past. I always found the Vec B, Cav B and Cav C/Vec A to be better looking cars in Saloon form TBH, its only the Vec C where the hatch looks better.

That's exactly why I got a saloon......all heads turn when I drive past, I know they think god he must be flash to have such a big car that isn't practical! I didn't get it because nobody else wanted it......honest.
