    Default Vectra horrible to drive?

My dad said the Vectra they have got in work is horrible to drive and that? is this true? It seems like everything he is saying is putting the Vectra down. I really still like them though but just wondering if it is true, i look at it as if it is true i can do what i had to do on my old corsa and get uprated suspension and all that steering and what not.

P.S sorry to make another thread with a question, but rather excited about getting a new car

What car is he used to driving?

I had the Astra sport hatch before this and that handled like it was on rails a totally different ride to the vectra which takes some getting used to.

Twitcy back end on corners i find in mine had geometry done still same.

I suppose it depends on what model he is driving, I have heard the poverty spec's can handle like barges. My Sri seems ok, not exactly sporty but it doesn't wallow all over the place

I agree, with the standard suspension, the Vectra is awful (and this was the first one that Jeremy Clarkson reviewed and slated for years afterwards)

However, with the sports suspension it makes all the difference
Ironically, Jeremy Clarkson also reviewed this Vectra and wondered what was going on, as the car handled completely differently

Luckily I have managed to test a few such models and the difference has to be driven to believe!
However, it is still not the best in the Vectra C, the sports suspension in this is a compromise and probably handles better with 18" wheels

Well recently i got it into my head to buy a smaller car !! ?? , so went to one of these car supermarket & test drove a few Corsas Fiesta and the like and when i got back into the Vectra i wondered why i was thinking of changing at all, as much more confortable to drive , the Vecta does get poor write ups but its individual taste and i prefer the Vectra to my cousins Focus and they get really goot write ups.

Definitely a difference between the Elite and SRI and as you say only believable when you drive both. The Elite pitches badly in corners - but it is comfort suspension afterall, whereas the SRI is tighter and feels more solid in corners and a bit more responsive too.

I can never understand why the focus' get such a good review either. I did only have a mark 1 but it was way worse than my astra g
