    Default 1.8 Springs Part Number

My vec failed its mot yesterday thanks to snapped rear springs.
Does anyone have a part number for 1.8 rear springs?
I have an sxi and think it has the sri springs as the front is low, but strangely even with snapped springs the rear sits a fair bit higher.
I'll go for local motor factors ones for £25 each for now as i'm on a tight budget.

hi mate, i hope i'm not breaking any rules on the forum but i've got a set of 1.8 sri springs taken off my 56 plate car, they are in perfect condition and if you pay the postage you are welcome to have them...no cost, obviously cos the box is quite large and heavy it would incur some delivery charge but to help a member out i don't want anything for them, they are just taking up space in my shed....let me know anyway...

Take it to your dealers mate & they will fit you a new pair for free.
They're covered under a warranty claim.

my sxi 54 reg has the sri springs as standard, make sure you get the right ones, mine were £45 each from motor factors, i think you'll find the £25 ones are standard height not sri spec.

    Did you ask them?
The dealership who did the work on my mates, was Martin rumble, Coventry.
If one garage have done it, there must be others, but other maybe reluctant to say.

Just phoned Vauxhall customer services on 08450902044 to enquire about the springs warranty and after being on hold for a few mins was told "there's no known issue with the rear coil spring so they would not be covered by a ten year warranty."

I know of a ****** issue with the springs, and I suspect 90% of members on here (and other vx forums) know too. Maybe we should get together and contact watchdog or has that been done already?

The guy was told that its any vectra upto 10 years old. I know he didn't cough up for his, he was chuffed to bits about it & knew he hadn't got the readies himself to pay for it.
I think i'll follow this up and get some clarity. I was gutted as i had swapped mine & paid for an irmy set myself prior to this..
