    Default Self Levelling Headlight problem?

The VXR has xenon AFL self levelling headlights and on my way to courtenays yesterday I had LOADS of people flashing me like I was blinding them with main beams, which I wasnt.

I cant manually adjust the level as its automatic.

This happened on the journey to courtenays before AND after I had the coilovers fitted on the return journey home (both journeys in the dark)

    Any ideas?

Oh and just to add, both headlights perform their 'self levelling' routing correctly when turning the lights on.

Probably just want aligning, all the "Self Levelling" does is compensate for additional load/passengers in the car.
    From TIS

    Xenon Headlamps, Adjust

Note: Headlamps must be adjusted using a legally specified projection wall or with optical headlamp adjuster.

If the control unit for headlamp range control has not been replaced, the ignition and engine must be switched on for approx. 5 seconds so that the servo motors carry out a reference run once.

If the control unit for headlamp range control has been replaced, the system must be reprogrammed and calibrated using TECH 2. A reference run is performed automatically at this time.

Vertical adjustment: The light/dark boundary on left (on right for RHD) of the adjustment cross must run horizontally along the adjustment boundary.

Lateral adjustment: the light/dark boundary line must run horizontally from the left side to the adjustment cross and from here upwards to the right at an angle of up to 15°. The inclination of the light beam is 1.0 over 10 m.

Carry out vertical adjustment first, then lateral adjustment. Check vertical adjustment again after lateral adjustment.

    Again thanks Tramman,

I'll go get them adjusted then... Do I need to use a normal Vauxhall Dealer with Tech2 ?

As long as the control unit hasn't being replaced you don't need tech 2, just a case of switching the ignition and engine must be switched on for approx. 5 seconds so that the servo motors carry out a reference run once.

There are two adjustment screws on the top of the headlight that use a normal allen key mate - one for left and right, one for up and down. This moves the whole headlight/motor assembly and resets the neutral position independant of the self-levelling system...

    To expand:

This is the the assembly that moves with the adjustment screws:

...and this section with the xenon bulb and lense is the part controlled by the AFL computer...
