I've got to let them settle and do some more messing about to get the right ride height... but not for a few days...

Initial drive home felt tight, no dip under heavy braking, flat round corners etc... nice

Still got a little bit of vague steering, but I think the PowerFlex bushes will help with all that.

John at Courtenay liked it when he test drove the car

Just had a very long (and productive) conversation with http://www.centergravity.co.uk/index.cfm

Regarding the suspension settings with the Vectra VXR.

He explained they have 3 main services to offer

    - Height Setup which takes around 60 to 90 minutes (charges £60 +VAT per hour)

    - Corner Weighting which takes around 60 to 90 minutes (charges £60 +VAT per hour)

    - Geometry (Camber, Toes, Caster etc) £199 +VAT one off fee

They go through a survey of your driving style and environment to help set up the car perfectly... so its safe, stable, balanced

In my case he strongly recommended I allow the car to settle to the ride height I want over 1000 miles (long timeline) to 5000 miles (short time line) as my car is garaged for long time periods and low miles

He suggested I maintain the ride height as 20mm lower than standard manufacturer settings on back, and 30mm lower on front.

Any lower and it starts to change the pivot point of the car and could make it handle worse (more body roll through corners)

However, he then suggested I get the Poly bushes fitted as soon as possible as the old bushes will now be 'twisted; in their mountings due to the change of position and will accellerate their failure.

    So thats the plan....

    - Set ride height
    - Get poly bushes fitted
    - Get corner weighting and geo setup

    Done

Looks great mate. Did he mention anything about your bonnet vents?

Interesting point he mentioned was to use the drivers door sill as the 'rake' level point if measuring in degrees

    Yes he did actually.

John had a good look at them and gave me the thumbs up. He said they are well positioned and should work nicely... also look really good.

He also gave me a good idea to protect the ABS module from water using a plastic flap which I will add to the 'OMG VXRS' bonnet vents thread.

    So thats good.

I think all the stuff you plan on doing to your car is going to have the same effect as coating the tyres in glue
