    cat believe how much my cars lost in 5 years from new parkers say brand new £16.000
    now a shocking £2.830 (50.000miles) shocking

    Could be worse , my boss has a 2005 M5 . Cost him 64k now worth 20k lol

    £27K new
    bought at 9 months old for £15k
    Now, at 60,000 miles, I've been quoted £2.5K trade in.

    Mine wasn't quite that bad from what i paid when i first got it, but its the main reason why i have decided to keep it, and start doing all the mods to make it the way i like it.

    Unless something goes hideously wrong in the next few years i can see my SRI being with me for a long time to come.

    This is why i don't buy a brand new car... because quite clearly i could not afford one cash lol...
    & i refuse to do finance, don't own a credit card either... i had 4k cash in my 06 xp elite 12 months ago

    Yeah I bought mine for about £22k and the second I drove it off the dealers forecourt it was only worth about £16k lol

    biggest mistake i have ever made was having a loan for £10000 for a mini , then ened up getting rid of it for a megane (found out wife was pregnant) then the megane was to small trading that in for a picasso , then ended up with the vectra, all in all ive lost 5k, should of brought athe vectra in the first place, saying that i should of never got rid on the vectra b lol

    paid 55k for a bmw 740 with all the toys 1996 got 18k for it in 1999 never again

    my daughter has just traded her 8 year old base model Ford KA, cost new £5k (in fact when the new KA came out you could get base models for 5K again) she got £1k - 80 % depreciation in 8 years. or £500 per year if you look at it in hard cash terms. Probably the best depreciation levels are at the bargain end of motoring. My Astra CDTI sri sporthatch cost £14k new - a bargain I thought, 2 1/2 years later traded for £8k. lost 6 k in 30 months, about £2400 per year. Thank god I didnt pay list price of 18K plus metallic ect...
