    Default Vibration

    At idle...What would cause a vibratrion to be felt through the drivers seat...the steering wheel also you can see vibrating?

    I do get when letting the clutch what feels like an engine mount moving when taking up the drive..also sometimes when i start it up i get alot of engine movement..feels like engine movement unless it something else..

    08-plate sri cdti 150 model...it drives fine

    its had all the dmf changed but the service mannager said in his opinion the movement you feel when your just about on biting point he says is the flywheel and wants to fit another...just not sure how this is..so over to you guys...

    Can see it having another few days in the dealers...trouble is i'm away to germany in 2-weeks so its gotta be spot-on..roughtly 2300 miles round trip in 4days so its going to be tested.

    sounds like rough running

    check egr / boost sensor

    change air /oil /fuel filter

    as for flywheel, dmf is flywheel therefore if its been changed it shouldn't need changing unless its been fitted badly

    Its just had all the filters changed at the dealer...i cleaned the boost sensor..was cacked up but boost wise its fine and pulls like a train...

    Random starting sometimes feels like a mounts got alot of play in it...and feels like the engines moving alot...again unless something else is out of sync...

    It doing very good mpg so baffled rearly...got no lights hanging on at start-up...

    i guess mounts might be an issue...what mileage have you done

    otherwise check all hoses ....boost...intercooler is your in and around that area......worth checking

    and i'd check throttle body and clean

    its done a nats off 45k..so most of its life spent on the motorway...i know most of the intercooler hoses in theory should of been checked because the front bumpers been off because it had the aircondensor replaced so you would of though if any were holed it would of been seen...
    Would the throttle body seriously cause vibrations on idle?

    on here we've worked out that EGR /boost / intercooler / maf / crankcase venting are all interlinked and therefore unpicking faults is somewhat hit and miss

    without warning lights / codes i'd be tempted to look for mechanical solution but keep the others above in the back of your mind

    throttle body or egr are my guess for your problem if your mounts are ok......


    otherwise is your swirl bar ok????

    Swirl bars not loose...its had EGR when they replaced the turbo about 500miles ago..reckon i'll pop and see the serive manager..he's fine and fitting bits i've never know a service manager like him...

    Only issue i'm thinking is..leave it to progress and knowing my luck in germany it goes tits up...but without codes your in the dark i guess.

    Have you looked at the engine while somebody else start it up?

    Could it perhaps be the exhaust system moving around underneath?

    Went to the dealer today and saw the service manager..just walk in the garage part and go upto his window in the wall and pop my head-in..start yapping like you do and talking about the issues above...

    Ordered a new boost sensor...the one that sits near the landing panel...gonna do that on friday..then pop it on the ramp and see if anythings un-toward underneath...like he said to me loads we can change yet under warrenty...he's a star nothings to much trouble for him and he loves warrenty work...
    We'll get there in the end...he's old school and wants to sort the problems out..top guy..i'll let you all know if it does any good.
