Default Vec C twitchy Front end

Recently bought this car and the front doesn't give me the feedback I would expect. Feels very light almost to the point of unstable at times in relation to my old B. tracking has been done and tyre pressures are correct. Have been told steering rack is ok (although by someone at Kwik Fit)
Any ideas or is this just a characteristic?

The slight wobbling when braking hard is more than likely to be warped front discs.

When KF checked the rack did they check the track rod ends etc?

Yes. Had a look myself although what I know can be written on a stamp. All looked clean and good. Agree with the possibly warped disc diagnosis but would this have passed an MOT 2 months ago?
Its the general not quite in control thing on the front end. tends to follow uneven road surface etc

Yes a car can pass an MOT with slightly warped discs. My wifes Hyundai did. It was noted as something likely to need attention before the next test. You seem to be describing tramlining which tends to occur more with bigger wheels and wider tyres etc.

As long as the discs physically look ok and it can give the correct efficiency in the brake rollers than it will pass an mot no bother

depends where mot was done to weather it went on brake rollers as thats a part of the test that vosa dont see so the tester can put what he/she likes but as long as they wrk well they should pass anyway
i had this judder and new discs and pads solved it i also had a wiring noise on braking too now gone
