    Default Advice required about ECU

First of all the pics identical to my car but have used it from another thread as it explains what I need to know in the pic.

I have a Vec C Sri 1.8 LPG 2003 and I have had a recent problem where cylinder 1 is not firing and appears to be on the gas rather than the petrol. I have had vx check it out and they say its a wiring fault and a auto technician has finally diagnosed the fault on one of the pins on the ECU for cylinder one not working. Hence its a new ECU for me.

I want to source one from ebay or scrap and the ECU not working is number 2 in pic its the the pin on the wiring block on the right of the two block in centre. my questions are:

    1) Is ECU 2 in pic the main engine ECU and does this also need to be tech2`d of the donating car and tech2`d into mine
    2) Is this ECU only in lpg vehicles eg is it different to petrol vehicles as i believe the block with the faulty pin goes into the lpg ECU near the battery as in pic.
    3) Do I even need a new ECU or i have some companies on the net that refurb/fix your faulty one??

    Any help appreciated.

Try ecu doctor on Internet. We used them a few years ago and were really good. Brilliant service and reasonable price.

Anyone with some knowledge of LPG ECU`s able to assist...I am trying to find a suitable ECU as mine has a fault not firing cylinder 1. anyway the problem is pinpointed to ECU no.2 in the pic above. But someone tells me this is actually a plug and Play ECU for LPG and hence I dont actually need a engine ECU. Does this mean any LPG ECU (no. 2 in pic) can be removed from another Vectra C lpg car and used as plug and play no need for tech 2 etc etc ...I have found a Vec C LPG in a breakers yard so if anyone can help will be much appreciated...sick of car being in limp mode..already spent £300 and still the same.

In case it helps anyone millbrook have confirmed that the item numbered 2 on the above pic is not an ECU and a plug and play module that connects the gas and petrol.
