    Default rear washer jet

The rear washer on me estate is not working, when you push the stalk i cant hear the pump running. The front washer works as well as the wipers, ive changed the stalk in case this was the problem and i can see any fuse the connected to the washer.
Ive removed the jet and pushed the stalk but the motor still doesnt work.

    Has anyone got any ideas

    thanks

I am having trouble at the moment with mine.

What is resolving mine is new a new elbow for the rear washer tube. The elbow fits between the washer pump and the washer tube and contains a one way valve to stop the water from runing back in to the washre bottle.

All the above can be found behind the passeng side front wheel arch cover.

ive removed the pump completely and just left the plug, them motor still doesnt work.

On removing it completely i have tried blowing through the outlet pipes and the rear outlet seems blocked when blowing either through either end.

When blowing through the front pipe it is clear and works both ways, so i thing that the pump appears to have had it.

The hose is clear to the rear so i might try another pump as they are cheap before i start delving more deeply into it

I had a similar problem and found it was the filter in the elbow part on the output of the pump. I don't know how they do it, some sort of switching one way valve - damned clever - but it gets clogged with all the fungussy stuff that collects in the bottom of the water bottle. Take it apart, it's easy but fiddly I recall, clean the filter and reassemble. No probs and no new pump required.

Ive had a look today, took both pipes of an blew throug them and there was no blockage. Replaced the pump and still the same problem, fronts work and no pump to the rear.

Could the problem be where the stalk connects onto the steering colum.

Also will the car fail the MOT without the rear washer.

right, On the way home today i thought id try the rear washer, i pushed the stalk forward and after about 15 seconds the pump works and water comes out. Tried it again and the same, works after about 15 seconds. I noticed that as soon as the water comes out the wiper wipes the screen. Could this be a sticking relay?
