    Question Vectra C Alarm Siren

Does anyone know where i might pick up the wiring for the alarm siren? It sounds like its in the rear bumper area somewhere but hoping someone may know if the wires run round the boot area at all?

I have got the Meta alarm pager thing now but need to connect to siren trigger wire!

    Cheers for any info

    Steve

the siren is in the boot, by the fuse box on the passengers side.. you can just see it if you fold down that storage flap..wiring is dead easy to get at..

Does anyone know if a second alarm can be fitted and used alongside the Vx one. I understand that the Vx one is a Thatcham Cat1, so I'd like to keep it. I've seen a system that texts your mobile if activated and I want one.

Thats exactly what the Meta GPA-800 does mate! Also gives gps co-ordinates that can be typed into the meta website for exact position, but its really the texting that i wanted and it has no ongoing subscription just whack a payt sim in and off you go! (Obviously top it up if needed!)

P.S. Thanks GSI for the info

ANyone any idea's here. I found a Ignition, + & - in the boot ok but think the alram is can bus too as no voltages seem to change when the siren is going thought i know i will connect it to indicator as they flash with alarm also guessing that when the ignition supply is on it would disable all phone calls etc. Well it doesnt everytime i indicate left my phone rings saying 'alarm triggered - press any key to confirm'.....DOH!

Thinking i may take the siren apart if poss as somewhere in there there must be a voltage or earth that appears when the siren actually goes off?

Not to cheap im afraid but can you put a price on security. We sell Meta at work so the rep knocked a bit off for me to be honest not sure of retail but they cost the dealer £299 + £40 for the programmer (+vat) he did mine at £239 for the pair plus vat then you bung in a Voda pre pay sim (as you can check credit left online)

QUite nifty if i text the car asking for Status i get:

    ID: EN06 XXX
    SAT: ON
    KEY: OFF
    SPEED: 0KMH
    GSM 58%
    BATTERY 13.3V
    TEMP +20C
And the gps position in long & lat which goes in www.meta-sat.com to get exact position. This would be better if it gave the actual position rather than co ordinates though

    But still good

If you get one you could borrow my programmer if you cover its cost with paypal or something and i could refund the paypal upon its return

Managed to get the siren apart and solder directly to the actual black siren wire which gives a negative input to the pager. Works a treat so far
