ive just fitted 35w 5000k as theyre closest to natural light from what ive read. ive had no issues with alignment, only thing i did was put the new hid bulbs in upside down, as the wire going to the end electrode casts a shadow on the road if you fit them the same way as the originals.

As I understand it, 8K and above you're starting to go out of the visible light band to get the deeper colour.

Piece of p**s mate.Just fitted a set of 35wx6000k,with cancelers, off my old mondeo. It took me about an hour and a half. However, when you do the drivers side you really need to take the airbox off,so don't start the car to test the light until you have put it back together or you will throw up aPO100 code from the MAF,and, unless you have a code reader, you will have to wait until the car has gone through all that restart nonsense before the EML goes off.FELIXX.

correction here, went out in the dark earlier & when i got home i wanted to see what the lights looked like when properly dark. was very impressed. turned the headlights off to see what the side lights are like & noticed the headlight bulbs flashed a few times with a gap of a couple of seconds between flashes. guess i will be fitting the cancellers that came with the kit i got

I have 8k HID's and they look the doo dars, passed mot ok too, even watched the tester shine the light onto the alignment board (it shows 'void' if the lights are too blue aparrently), plus had a couple of pulls from police before for random stop checks, never been warned or told they look illegal.
Alot of people think 8k bulbs are no good in the dark on wet days too, they are wrong IMO, when my car has been side by side with other cars with lower K HID's in dark places wet and dry, mine light up the road better, plus its amazing how white lines are road signs reflect the light, I'd never go back lower than the bulbs I have now, plus they set my car off very well as I have the 4CU Pearl Ultra Blue. Also suits the white cars very well too.

Op-com or tech 2 if you can find or borrow one, just set the varient control to the HID setting.... sorted mine out perfectly, better than another wedge of cable and black box behind your headlight
