    Default 2.0dti intercooler pipes collapses!

    help with this one please

sorting out my 2.0 dti, when you rev it to get the turbo working it lacks in power, and on checking the intercooler pipe coming from the engine to the intercooler is folding flat.

i have checked the inter cooler is not blocked and found to be ok. also tried removing the airbox to rule this out and it was still the same

any ideas on what else to check?

    Cheers

    Can you hear it?

Have you tried taking the pipes off to check their condition, the dti's commonly blow pipes so its possible that the pipe has degraded inside causing it to collapse

I have heard of them splitting but not going flat. Its almost like there is suction in the pipes rather than positive pressure. You havent mistakenly put the turbo on back to front?!??!?!?!!?

Is it all of the hoses that are collapsing or jsut the one?

If its just the one hose then I was say it has degrafed from the inside. The oil can eat away at the rubber. Vauxhall used crap hoses on the 2.0 and 2.2dti's.

yes i did as i had to change the rad pack so had them all off

was just looking at the vac piping from the actuator the vac pipe run up to the the sensor at back of airbox fine, checked the pipe that comes of from that and runs across front of engine and the T's off where it T off and goes to the engine this was unpluged.

would this cause the problem? not able to test it due to it being in the garage and the time of night lol

Innes it was all the pipes going flat.

Does the engine stall? The engine sucks air in and there has to be a blockage some where for the pipes to go flat. Have you looked into the air intake that hidden behind the grill and goes into the air-box? Do you get the the car/spanner light on the screen on the dash?
