You have the power but still don't have the weight. Because of the high sides and relatively small weight for there size it is recomended you do not tow a caravan that weighs more than 85% of your vehicle weight.

They are right your car is quite capable, but it is not a good tow car per say, its just not heavy enough to tow a really heavy trailer and be stable. I work at a trailer place and you would be surprised what people try and tow!

I'm used to a 2 ton trailer being light so of course I look at a signum and laugh at the idea of it being a good tow car, but for smaller lighter things I am sure it will be fine....

I tow a relativly light (1250kg) 2 berth caravan with my 2.2dti vectra and it's more than capable mate.

Very stable even in windy conditions.

With a 3,0 you should have no problems although make sure your noseweights etc. are correct as i've noticed the Vec is very sensitive (I know you have a signum)

The problems on my old V6CDTI were a never ending story. Problem after problem. Injectors, EGR, pump, turbo, MAF sensor,............I finally snapped and sold it with over 167k on the clock....
Got another V6CDTi and this one, so far, has been absolutely fine Done 25k miles since march 2010

I tow a 1250 kg caravan with my 2.2dti. Effortless towing, still manage 30mpg as long as i dont go to fast.

Great tow car in my opnion.

    3.0 will tow a breeze.
