Ok, so still waiting to get the cash - hopefully will find out more in the next few days since parents are literally on the plane back from Mauritius as I type(inheritance due), but found what I think sounds like a decent motor :-

2007MY on a 56 plate
1.8VVT Design
Plus Pack (so 17" wheels and CD70)
fraction over 36.5k miles
Star Silver

Been and had a butchers, not driven yet, but will do soon - minor cosmetic scuffs etc as you would expect, but the stealers reckon they would sort all them out as much as possible!

up for £6995 with dealer FSH, but I will definitely get that down due to my ummm...contacts shall we say

sound like the one to go for?

i have 1.8vvt sri and absoultly love it, i cant comment on the price sorry but all i can say is in my opinion that is a great engine to go for

Thanks - do you know if I should insist they do the SRS remap to the ECU (I think that's what I read about somewhere on here!) before picking it up - if I go for it that is!

not so worried about the price - my contact got me £750 off my current Vectra B, as well as full service and cambelt change when I bought it!lol

i was going to get mine remapped but cos its quite a small engine probably wouldnt see much of an increase so i guessed to save my money, if it was getting done in the deal tho jump at the chance

I don't think it is necessarily a remap as such, most comments I have seen relate to it being a bit sluggish when pulling away, and in some cases this seems to have sorted it...I could be wrong of course! I'm sure someone will correct me!lol despite working for VX I'm not really car technical..more computers for me!lol

It seems a bit silly to buy a small engine then remap it IMO - just get the 2.0 Turbo to start with and not only will you have more power from the start, the possibilites are huge for more tuning in the future if you wanted it as it's a very flexible engine...

Sounds good but i wouldn't want to pay more than the high 5's for it. Got any pics

hey Penfold....as previous post, I don't think it's really a power remap, just to smooth things when pulling away in first as some people have experienced issues. Also, as much as I would like a 2.0T, the insurance would kill me!was a bit of a numpty a couple of years back and got banned, so have to bear that in mind!

Big Sig - waiting to see what deal i can arrange..unfortunately no pics at the moment...can't even pinch them from the stealers website as they have generic ones on at the moment...as soon as i get it (or a different car, will still be vectra c or signum though!), pics will be posted!
