    confused Coolant Temperature Sensor Location

    Hi,

As well documented in other thread(s), I am having problems with my car "hesitating" and having a loss of power.

It has been suggested to me that it COULD be the coolant temperature sensor faulty and giving the ECU intermittently faulty signals and it overfuelling the engine.

Does anyone know where this sensor is located on a 54 reg 1.9 CDTi 150, how much a replacement is to buy and if it is a DIY or garage job to change it?

I can't find anything on here to do with this sensor except threads where people are suggesting it may be faulty.

They are usually screwed into the thermostat housing.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Which is where? I only know a little bit about cars.

A specific description or, even better, a photo pointing to where it is would be greatly appreciated!

Sensor is PN 55193203, located in the thermostat housing (see the passenger side end of the cylinder head). Simple job.

I don't suppose you could be a gem and take a photo of it and it's exact location for me could you please?

I've never had to look for one of these and have no idea at all what it looks like / where it goes.

    Thanks.

    Thanks Big Sig! That's Great!

So, when I get in there, would I just disconnect an electrical connector at the top of the sensor and unscrew it from the housing?

Also, how much is the sensor to replace and do the stealers usually carry them on stock?

Apologies for all the questions mate.

No idea if they are even available separately, you might find you have to buy the whole thermostat housing C/W sensor. Call them and ask
