right got a 1.8 z18xe that has a misfore, pluged upto opcom come up with misfire on number 3
now i got told the ecu has gone, but what do you guys think? would the ecu gone cause this?
or would i be best trying a new coil pack?

Is it a regular misfire or occasional? Does it do it on every firing stroke?
Firstly, you need to understand if it is fuel or spark related. Are any wires to the injector for that cylinder damaged? Is the spark plug OK? Have you removed the plug and checked? Is the coil pack fitted securely?
It may be that the ECU has gone, but no point in changing an expensive item until you have checked the simpler stuff first.
Try moving the plug to a different cylinder and see if the misfire moves cylinders too.
Youve tried new spark plugs first I take it?
Who said the ECU has 'gone' and what evidence do they have to support this theory?
the only thing i have done with it so far is check the plug is ok on the coil and its bolted down correct.
i am yet to remove the plugs and check they are ok.
the misfire is on every stock and is there all the time no mater what
i will also being doing a compresion test when i remove the plugs just to rule out a droped valve but wanted to see if the ecu are know for going like this and not sure ont hese onthe vectra c lol
I think id start with a spark plug swap first, then look at the Coil pack if that doesn't work.
