    Default iPhone 4

Anyone here have an iPhone 4?

I'm looking at buying a brand new one and transferring my sim over from my iPhone 3gs. I know the iPhone 4 needs a micro sim but i want to know if it comes with the phone and if it's possible to have my exisiting sim transfered to the micro sim?

    I'm on Vodafone

They don't cone with the micro sim but your phone provider should send you one. Either that or get the scissors out and cut it down but got to be exact.

I watched a youtube video and hacked down my normal sim to a microsim. went a bit overboard and chopped it a bit to much, still works though

Just to into a Vodafone/Orange/O2/whatever network you're with shop and ask them to transfer your account from your sim to a microsim

My wife has one. It has some advantages over the 3GS but tbh I think I would wait for the 5 before upgrading. Apple never add enough to make upgrading to the next version worthwhile. Also the 4 while being a great iPod touch is not a great phone. Wife and I are both on the same network. I can get a 5 bar signal on my BlackBerry (or my old Nokia) while she struggles to get any signal with the iPhone 4.

Do you have to pay for the micro sim as you can get cutters to cut your own one down to the exact size, it's £15 though so if the sim is alot more than that you'd be best off buying the cutter

    .

Yes and she even got one of their free bumpers. It also periodically drops the signal completely and has to be hard rebooted to find the network again. Both issue have been well documented and not really fixed by Apple. Personally I am happier with my BlackBerry for communication and my iPod Touch for all the other stuff than trying to use the one gadget fits all iPhone route.

Mate i work with O2 in the iphone department and i can honestly suggest not to bother with it.

some of them have the issue but some dont.
if you do get one then you can go into your app store and order a bumper case but it doesnt actually make any differance.

their aer advantages over the 3G and 3GS but personally not enough to justify the cost.

if you buy an iphone as a pay and go thru O2 you will need to get a pay and go sim with credit, usually £10, and unless you want that pay and go number you cant transfer the credit over.

if you already have a contract then the network can supply the sim FOC or go to an o2 store, then you can swap it over your self at www.o2.co.uk/swapmysim this takes upto 24 hours but thats all you gotta do.

i have the blackberry 9105, and its the best phone i've ever had! i get an iphone free from O2 but even at that i wouldnt buy one.

    hope this helps mate.
