White smoke is usually water burning in the cylinders... as to why its doing it if the levels not going down its hard to say... keep checking your coolant tank. Failing that when was your sedimenter last emptied??? One of your fuel filters is there to seperate water from the diesel and collects it in a small section of the filter housing with a drain plug which needs to be undone periodically to empty out the H2O...

Normally it wouldn't let water up into the injectors and if it got full it would just stop the engine working as water doesnt combust (or we would have a cheap fuel bill) but if its a diesel and it may be burning water in the mix I would check that out.

white smoke usually equates to water in the system somewhere

    things to check

    1) fuel filter replace and drain
    2) are you parking on a steep hill where water can enter the exhaust system
    3) check your oil for contamination

after that get back to us

    cheers

Before you pop down the garage check that out:

    http://www.ehow.com/facts_4897161_ca...-exhaust_.html

Standard rule is white = coolant, blue = oil and black = overfuel... Just found out gray = underfuel lol! Might need to get that verified to fault find yourself before asking a garage to spend your hard earned cash doing it for you

Thick pale/white smoke can also be ATF burning off a hot exhaust. I had a fluid pipe vibrate against the underbody many years ago with a Granada - ended up with a pinhole leak spraying ATF onto the exhaust downpipe.... I got halfway back from W. Germany being my own Red Arrow before things ceased to work halfway through Belgium.
Check power steering fluid level and transmission fluid if yours is an auto.
