Try resetting all the figures mate and start from scratch. They could have been in place since the car was built...

If you've filled up to the brim of the tank then drive till you've gotten down to the red and see how many miles you've done. That should give you an indication of what you're economy is really like, but I'd expect around 400 miles give or take whatever driving you're doing...

If you got 30 with a mixture of town and motorway that owuld be about right mate. I had a 2.2 Direct manual a few years ago and didn't really like it. Lack of torque and 30 mpg killed it in my opinion...

Default My Signum 2.2 Direct Auto

I get 27-28mpg town driving, 32mpg mixed and up to 38-39mpg on a motorway run.

I noticed that on one motorway cruise it wouldn't climb above 29mpg which was mental. I stopped at a filler station, fueled up (after 230 miles), pulled back out on the motorway and cruised and the mpg was straight up to 39mpg where it stayed.

I was wondering whether this was like a reboot of the computer or something. Then I panicked thinking that the fuel pressure pump/regulator was playing up feeding too much fuel to the engine.

This has happened a few times, stopping and starting cures it which is bonkers.
