    Default TPMS dilemma

I retro fitted my TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system ) a while ago and paid my local vauxhall garage to activate it and i assumed it was all working however today i checked my pressure's and my nearside rear was 10psi
it has been leaking from my new sensor

Now its a long story because i went to a local tyre place for 2 tyres about a month or so back and in the process of changing my front tyre they damaged my TPMS sensor so they had to buy me a new one from vauxhall, now when i returned to get them to fit it the fitter fitted the sensor to my rear nearside wheel as this had a rubber valve in it from when i changed my wheels as i had locking caps on and they stuck solid on and snapped that sensor so i replaced it with a rubber valve. He must of thought the metal valve they temporary fitted to the front was a sensor

So this is my Dilemma should the garage that fitted the sensor of checked that it was fitted correctly and no leaks or is it vauxhalls fault as they told me it was all activated so ive been running around with a under inflated tyre and ive knackered the inside edge
The offside rear inside edge is 4.1 but the nearside that's been run low for over a month is 2.1 so who's fault is it ?

Ultimately the driver Don, but I'd want someone to blame for that too as mistakes have been made

Never trust a computer mate, you should know that

I know that i'd be ****ed if it happened to me though so although your gonna have to pay for the tyre yourself i'd be getting VX to sort the TPMS as they obviously haven't done it right

Suppose so Sean but if i have a bit of kit thats meant to be working and tells me when i have a flat or puncture and its not working then why did they tell me it was plus after speaking to a mate (manager at national tyres he's saying they should of checked that it was fine and had no leaks before fitting back to car.

And i know its driver responsibility to check car before every journey

I agree, they shouldn't let a car go out with a leak so to me it's down to them as they didn't at least, inform you of the leak. If they had you could of made a better informed decision.

Nope they fitted the sensor to the wrong wheel and didn't test it,i don't mind so much about them putting it on the wrong wheel as it doesn't matter as i have to get another new one anyway so front or back its all the same.

How ever when fitting TPMS valves there not like rubber valves you have to be careful on how you tighten them up and really you should check they don't leak

TBH no tyre valve should be leaking after it's been fitted, never mind a tpms sensor

Well im waiting on vauxhall ringing me back and i will ring the tyre place tomorrow because its still leaking as my mate at national didnt want to risk taking tyre off to fix as its there mistake so he's pumped it upto 36psi for me

Going to have to look around to see if i can get a full run down on how to activate TPMS
