Default How could I improve the Sri?

    Hi,

I have had my vectra for a few months now, I previously had a rather nice looking astra coupe turbo, which had some irmscher styling, albeit quite subtle.

Question is I feel the vectra is a little bland & wondered if there was anything I could do simply to make it stand out slightly?

Please see below thread for pics:

I was thinking of a re-map in the near future along with a possible dual exhaust, apart from that I am out of ideas?

Re-map would increase the torque and greatly increase the chances of DMF failure, which given the age of your car would more or less make it a financial write 0ff. Twin exhaust don't really do anything. Why don't you get yourself a nicer set of wheels.

How much would it set me back if the DMF failed? Approx

£600-1100, depending on the labour rate.

Really depends on how much money you are willing to throw at it ...
new wheels ??? front splitter ?? angeleyes ?? rear spoiler ??? roof spoiler ???
dual exhaust ??? vxr insert .... the list is endless..

your best bet is to ck out ppls garages and see what you like -dislike ...then go from there ..

Not sure in a Vectra, but I ditched my Mondeo TDCi in August because the DMF was going and I was quoted £1200 by Ford dealer, with the best independent quoting £800. Just not worth spending that given that a pre-face Vectra SRi (ie at least 5 years old) would be worth to trade in (probably 1-1.5k if you were lucky).

OOPs, I seem to be having a senior minute that should have been 2-2.5K.

Thank god, seeing as I paid £3000

Well I might think twice about a re-map then if it can potentially ruin it

Twin exit exhaust, Snowflake alloys or VXR 18's / 19's an Irmscher grille and signum foglight surrounds would be a good external start IMHO

Quite a few diesels suffer from DMF problems in some way, sadly. Remapping the 1.9 gives some incredible results. Many have not suffered any problems and have had the car remapped for a long time..
