Default Help with tuning box, please

I have a DTUK CDR2. Until recently I have used it for around 10 months with no issues. When fitted my SPANNER light comes on. The engine then looses power. The engine is definately noisey with it on. I sent it back to DTUK and was assured that it was fitted to another Vectra and run for a few days with no issues, all working fine. When I recieved it back from DTUK the jumper pin had been moved to a different map setting. The power setting was the same, 1 setting below the middle.I tried it again on my car(120 Vectra CDTI), this time it was as though it was too powerful, the power came in very quickly at 2000rpm, again it was very noisey(harsh deisel knock).
When accelerating ( not full throttle) the light came on again and the engine stopped.
DTUK have told me it could be the EGR valve, or many other things.Where is the EGR fitted on the 120 deisel.
Has anyone else had these types of issues, and any ideas what it could be. Engine has done around 48k and is well maintined.
    Thanks in advance

Boxes work by fooling the ECU into injecting more fuel into the common rail which in turn feeds the injectors.IMO,I would start off at the lower setting and work your way up until the car starts to exhibit the symptoms you are now experiencing, which seem to be over fueling.FELIXX.

Thanks for the reply. The box was working fine. It is set below the standard set up. May try it at its lowest setting and start from there.

Probably wisest move is to leave it off and see what develops/breaks first.
