Unhappy The Estate could be going

Yep you've read right, I'm currently seriously thinking of replacing my C Estate with either a Mitsubishi Shogun Sport or a Mitsubishi L200 Pickup.

My year with my C has so far been very much a love hate kind of affair but at the same token I just don't know whether to bite the bullet or not lol.

    Anyone got any thoughts lol

Eeerrmm errrrr no, no thanks lol, I wanna get to where I want to go

At the end of the day it's not really the Vecs fault, it's got loads of room, has been relatively trouble free but, and that's the problem, there's a but. There is no connection between me and the car, whereas there will be tears when or if I should ever part with my B estate

Hey I get to where I won't to go - albeit it involves pedalling and pushing the car there but

I know what you mean though I wouldn't like to part with my motor either, despite the problems she has.

Coming from someone who has driven a Shogun Sport (and technically a L200, based on the same car) it really will depend on what you do and need it for. The diesel presuming it's the 2.5TD is no good for motorway driving because it screams its head off. Go over 3000RPM and it will chew through diesel like nothing else. Sitting at 60 or so and you'll do about 27-30mpg. Round town will be a fair bit less; maybe 20 or so. They are quite loud in the cab too. Road noise isn't bad but the drone from the engine is somewhat annoying on a long drive. The only other real niggle is they're quite loud when cold and don't get a lot quieter and the bus sized turning circle. But eventually, you stop noticing these things.

    However.

The stereo is pretty good as standard, there's a fair bit of room in the cab and the ride isn't too bad for an off roader. And as off roaders go, they're very, very good. Suspension lift by 2 inches and some mud tyres and you will go anywhere. The 4D56T engine (2.5TD) will run on pretty much anything, so you can throw vegetable oil in the tank if you like or bio diesel. There's buckets of torque providing the revs are right and ours never used a drop of oil between services. Plenty of room in the back seats and depending on the model (ours is an Equippe) they can be well specified. Can also get a Mitsubishi Ralliart chip for them which is a simple plug and play job that gives it a fair bit more oomph.

If you go to look at one, get the radiator cap off and check for bubbles in the coolant, they have a tendancy to blow head gaskets or crack heads quite easily if they overheat. Other than that, any other rattles and bangs providing they are nothing too bad are normal. It's a big off roader, it's not buit like a Mercedes.

    Any more questions, just ask
