Default Need help with wiring stereo and amp

When it comes to these type of things i'm a self confessed moron. Hence why i'm calling on your help.

I'm trying to wire the amp (JBL GTO 4000 series) to stereo ( SONY CDX-GT50UI)

On the amp there are 2 sets of input/output. 1 saying front, the other saying rear, surely I dont need an input/output for front and rear speakers??

Once i've got that sorted,I only have to wire speakers from amp not to the stereo aswell, is that right?? Like i said i'm a moron at this sort of thing.

I've posted up pics of amp and the back of the stereo so you'll (maybe) understand what i'm on about.

N.B this is for my 1972 Beetle not my siggy

As you can see i've got an input and output plugged into amp on the rear side, what 2 holes out of the 4 on the back of the stereo do the other end plug into?

Only if you are putting in front and rear speakers mate. You can get away with wiring up the fronts to the headunit.

Yes that's correct, speakers wired to amp only.

The ones on your headunit get plugged into these on the amp via a RCA cable to the channel in .It looks like you can also have the option of wiring up a sub too. as long as it a 2,4,6 channel amp.

Yip for fronts you'll need another rca cable from headunit to amp. And the the ones from the amp go into the white/red connections in the headunit.

He could buy a RCA Y splitter to make it into double channels, as I did this in my Primera Sport a few year ago.
